Callous Doom. The name itself invokes visions of darkness, spawned as it is from the hardened side of life, that slice that insists on keeping in the shadows, yet begs to be seen and heard. Those voices that you hear whispering at you from the shadows of the darkened woods, and the footsteps that echo within your fine tuned ears on the walk home, by yourself, and at night. What was that noise? Did you hear that? I know someone is watching me.......... Callous Doom thrives in that environment, we live there, we are those voices and the footsteps and the eyes that you feel upon you. We are the slight cold breeze that sets bumps upon your skin, we are the chills that run rampant along your spine. A group of dark musicians are we, musicians that have grown cold and calloused to the lamentations of this dying world. We feed upon the anguish and misery of the human horde, and our music reflects the overwhelming sadness and despair that our victims, nay, those victims of the world, feel daily....as well, our music reflects the viciousness with which we feed and the utter disdain we feel towards mere mortals. |

To find yourself engulfed in the essence that drives us is to find yourself in the middle of something that borders on the dreamscape, yet exists in nightmares. Our place upon the stage set in haunting nightmares, a live performance of the unspoken, and yes, perhaps the unwanted. The question will remain though, that why, if humans so disbelieve the arcane legends, if they so choose to remain ignorant of the darkness that is inevitable, then why does it scare them so? What is it that frightens mortal man? There are many who know that answer, yes, those that choose to embrace the darker side of things. Those that realize that gloom and doom is but a part of life, perhaps more specific, existence, a balance that is precarious at best, yet symbiotic and necessary. To find the answer, one must open themselves to a certain amount of chaos, a certain amount of forbidden beauty, and embrace that which frightens them. We are the narrators for all things that go bump in the night, all dark legends, and yes, anything politically incorrect and socially unacceptable. We are the harbingers and messengers of doom, albeit a hardened doom, yes, that we call Callous Doom. |
There is much beauty in the darkness, one must but open their eyes and ears to see it and hear it, and yes, open your heart to accept it.
